About the author

Cathleen Pierucci is a fiction writer with a strong passion for suspense, political intrigue, and character-driven storytelling. She is drawn to stories that explore the strength of family, the weight of responsibility, and the resilience people discover when life takes unexpected and often difficult turns.

After spending 14 years working in healthcare, Cathleen was forced to step away from her career due to seizures. It was during this life-changing period that she found her voice as a writer, choosing storytelling as a way to explore the emotional and psychological layers behind moments of crisis. Writing allows her to examine the decisions people make under pressure and the love that drives them to protect what matters most. Her novel In the Shadows reflects this passion for suspense rooted in human emotion, where danger is deeply personal and the stakes are intensely real.

Cathleen is 51 years old and the proud mother of three grown daughters and a 16-year-old son, as well as a grandmother to six grandchildren. She lives in Grover Beach, California, with her husband, son, one granddaughter, and their three dogs. When she’s not writing, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, whale watching, walking along the beach, and spending quality time with her large family.
